    Re: NBA Playoffs...

That one really wasn't a smackdown, I mean the final score says so, but it was very close for about 3 and 1/2 quarters and the Hawks lead for a lot of that time. About 7 minutes left I think, the Hawks couldn't buy a shot and Orlando couldn't miss, wasn't close after that.

And that could definitely happen, don't see the Hawks losing the next game though IMO. Got to remember the Hawks just come from a tough 7 game series and Orlando swept theirs, that's their fault, but it's a big factor.

    Re: NBA Playoffs...

A tough 7 game series that lasted two weeks. I understand it was a tough but there was more time off between games than what the players were used to during the regular season. No way they can claim they were tired after playing 7 games in 2 1/2 weeks. I would almost say that Atlanta had the advantage because they actually played basketball while Orlando took a week off and could have been rusty, obviously they weren't but you could make a case for both sides. Bottom line though, NBA Playoffs take way too long IMO.

Orlando was dominant for 2.5 out of 4 quarters last night and Atlanta dominated the 2nd quarter, not much else. Once Orlando took the lead back near end of third it was over.

I also think ATL takes the next game and they really need to take both to even have a fighting chance

The Suns have officially dragged the Spurs out behing the barn, pulled out the revolver and executed the SA squad before dawn. That is all.

I really like the way the Suns are playing. They'll be a tough out for the Lakers (provided we get by Utah).

WOW R-13........ An embarrASSing home loss for the Hawks. Orlando has this one wrapped up. 30 Point blowout on their home court. The "rowdy" Hawk fans stood up almost twice, all within the first 2 minutes. Magic are just killing it right now, hopefully they don't bloom too quickly and go stale next series.

So much for us thinking ATL takes the 3rd game.

Fingers around the throat,as the Lakers nab a HUGE win at Utah to dim the lights, and go up 3-0.

    Re: NBA Playoffs...

no doubt who the better team was, total domination.

the suns outshot, outrebounded, outhustled, played better defense, were better in the pick and roll, shot unbelievable from 3, and just took the spurs to the woodshed.
none of the games were really blowouts, but phoenix was never really in danger. san antonio did not have the offense to compete. too many missed shots, too many defensive lapses, too many open shots, just terrible. i've never saw the spurs more outmatched, and after beating a very very good dallas team, i thought they had the potential to slow the game to a crawl and dominate in the half court, but phoenix did not miss enough shots or make enough mistakes to do that, unlike dallas. the difference was really the bench, phoenix had 3-4 guys come off the bench and play like starters, while san antonio had to have their starters in to compete. dudley was just excellent, hustled every time down the court, fought for rebounds, hit timely shots. the dragvic kid was amazing, 23 points in the 4th quarter of a must win game was out of this world. frye hit tons of big three's, barbosa who had played like ass until the spurs series was much better, etc..

phoenix dominated san antoino, no way around it.
they finally got the monkey off their back, and did it in impressive fashion.

i dont think phx matches up well with los angeles, lal will be able to match up defensively much better than the spurs were able to, they are more athletic and longer. the big guys for lal will be huge, if they play great lal wins, if they falter and phx can run, they can give them a series.

    Re: NBA Playoffs...

And Atlanta decided to lay down for the 4th game as well. Yet another double digit loss to the Magic. The Magic are absolutely rolling right now, hope it continues next series but it may be another week off as we wait 7 days to play the final 3 games of the Bos/Cle series.
